When we first had our 2nd child I went 2 work 4 Wal-Mart. The little time I was there I was treated like I was replaceable. I was expected 2 do more than some of my co-workers, yet they were getting promoted n such. I quit. After that I found out that 2 of my co-workers were dating ast. mng's sons! They got three raises while I got none. Most the time they were socializing n not working. Then we moved to a different state. My husband got a job with the local Wal-MArt there. He thought it was just the other Wal-Mart. Boy was he wrong. He was there for a while when he put in for a promotion. He was told someone with more experince was chosen. After two mts with this other person being rude, yelling @ him for others por work n told he was a losser he went to his Ast. Mng. She said she'd get back to him. 4 mts later nothing! He went to her again, she told him that the problem was that he was just mad that he didn't get the promotion. After he got other's in his department to back him, they cut his n 2 of there hours back. The one that changed his story got a dollar rais!!!! So he finnaly left @ lunch 1 day after a nother verbal attac by his boss. After he left one of his co-workers told him that the ast. mng. said they cought my husband take products from the back!!! This person knew this wasn't true cause he was there when my husband left n didn't come back. So he relized what they were n now works 4 a different company doing the same job, making $3 more an hour!!! People please listen n open your eyes to what is really going on with Wal-Mart. Our comunites r being hurt n the people that work for the r to. We need to find a way to stop this! No one should go threw what we have, no matter whom u r!!!

How can you oppose Wal*Mart by saying they are AGAINST capitalism?

I could understand if you were against capitalism yourself, that's perfectly fine and good. We live in America after all. Hell, we have a Communist party! And that is wonderful and one of the BASIC ideals that keeps our nation going! However, to call Wal*Mart 'anti-capitalist' is kind of silly, in my opinion. To me, Wal*Mart is the embodiment of capitalism! Purchase cheaply, employ CHEAP labor, and sell at a price that no one can resist! Meanwhile, make a MASSIVE profit! Don't get me wrong, I HATE the Wal*Mart that is 1/2 a mile south of me, AND the one that is 2 miles NORTH of me! That's right, within a 2.5 mile stretch of road (THE SAME ROAD) there are TWO Super Wal*Marts. I dislike them both equally!

That said, my reasons are because Wal*Mart is full of former-wellfare riding employees and shoppers that are rednecks and hoosiers! I am an upper-middle class citizen, and as such, would not shop at Wal*Mart! But, that's my perogative! I just cannot understand how you folks can call Wal*Mart anti-capitalist!

I am a former Wal Mart employee from British Columbia, Canada. Wal Mart is a horrible, dishonest company. There is a female employee that works the night shift in the store I once worked in that is approaching her six year anniversary and makes 9.65 an hour Canadian, plus a dollar night shift premium. At the time I left I made 9.65, I had worked there for a year and half.

I worked at Wal-mart and I hated it. August 1,2007 I went in to work and after 2 hours of being there I went got in my truck and drove off and I haven't went back. I hate Wal-mart. The management is lousy and that family oriented talk is a bunch of BS. I rather be unemployed than to work at a place and be misery. I can't wait for Wal-mart to go bankrupt. That will make my day.

I got a pass due Over time check from the wal mart main office.It was for $1.48 so I went to the wal mart in town here to the service desk and handed them the check to cash the lady told me that you owe wal mart 1.52 I said what they told me that if I need to cash it it will cost me 3.00 so it would have costed me 1.52 just to give it to them to cash.I whipped my ass with it and flushed it

I work for a Wal~Mart in upstate New York. First let me tell you that New York State's minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. When Wal~Mart opened it was $6.75 and they started everyone at $7.50.Then it rose and so did wal~mart wages upto $8.50 an hour. Now that is more than most other bisnesses in the area pay people who have been there for years. I think you guys need a life. They gave 400 people jobs, thats a lot in a rinky dink town like mine. Its not wal~mart that is bad to they're workers, its the management in that store!!!!! Each store is different. I will bet I make more money a month then you do in t-shirt sales a year. I did see the episode of Penn and Teller, and I did read your rebuttal. I still find fault with your 'company' and with your views. Now, this could be because I'm in Canada. Who knows, maybe Wal-Mart Canada is better than Wal-Mart U.S., but I live 5 minutes away from a Wal-Mart, and it has definatly helped my community. They pay better than minimum wage, they have full benefits, and I'm not sure where you get that they don't support the morning after pill or other forms of contraception, because there are 2 full isles of different contraception options, right in front of the pharmacy.

I worked for walmart almost 2 years. I started off pushing carts, then after about 8 months i decided to go to overnights. That was a huge mistake. They told me they had an opening in electronics. Where did i end up... Garden center. I started seein ga girl who worked in jewelery but that wasnt allowed up at wally world. They brought both of us in the office and said that we couldnt see each other because it was innappropriate. So we told them that we broke up and didnt see each other in the store. About 6 months later the main maintenence man and one of the overnight managers were found in the managrs office in a very uncomfortable situation. It turns out that they been having an affair for about 6 years. so there goes 12 years for one of them and 23 for the other one. Then i was told i was fired right after they had been fired. I was talking to a friend who unfortunatley still works there and was told that alot of time when they want someone gone or just get tired of someone they will find anyway to get rid of them. So if anyone out there is working fro walmart and decides to start seeing another worker watch yourselves because the same thing that happened to me could happen to you.
